i was born in Ashton-under-Lyne in Lancashire.in 1938 at the time my father was in the army at the start of ww2.
I was thus raised by my mother and her family in nearby Stalybridge.where I attended both primary and secondary school.-West Hill.
After failing my 11 exam I became an electrical apprentice and at the local college working towards Btec qualifications-before taking the pmg certifcate (radio Officer ).
I met my wife Dorothy and decided to go into the Royal Air Force.as a radio technician.
I left the forces in 1961 and went to work at the Fylingdales radar station near Scarborough and with my family went to live in nearby Irton small village.
fylingdales maintenance was run by a British company rca gb -now serco.
ilet to manage a contract on the motorway Perry barr Birmingham i later left to work for west mids cc managing a traffic control system.
over the next 10 year i was involved in managing a wide range of control system contracts in the uk and abu dahbi..
in the 1970s I changed career and went into managing adult and youth training schema on ict and similar.
things changed in 1500s when I suffered a heart attack and was diagnosed as needing a triple bypass.
I took took this time to take degree in training and and development at Leeds metro uni.
a whilst working for a charity a second degree in voluntary sector studies and at derby uni and an ou degree in management. and
however 5 years ago following 3 tias mini strokes during an Endicardactomy I suffered a major stroke and lost use of rightarm and right id.
Now live at home in Braunton north Devon cared for by a wife.
